Meditate Your Mind With These Tibetan Singing Bowls

It was always been a belief that the Tibetan singing bowls originally came from the world's Himalayan regions. But the creation of these Tibetan singing bowls can't be exactly pinpointed by any historian. However, the technique in making it was already seen in Asia since long ago, at around 2,500 years back. But other sources would also say that the singing bowls were already seen being used in some other countries around 3,000 years back. It was also believed that the first users of the singing bowls were the "Bon" sect among the shamans, who used them for various rituals and practices.

It was said that there are about five different metals that composes the Antique Singing Bowls, but some claim that there are actually seven, or even nine. But what's clear is that the metals used were gold, mercury, silver, copper, iron, and tin. But there are even people who would believe that originally, the singing bowls were definitely made from meteorites. But along the way, original singing bowls were traced and was found out that they were made of the five metals mentioned, some instances were even just made of less than five.

But with techniques today, easier methods are now being utilized, like simply pouring the metal into a form of cast. With this method, the singing bowls are generally a lot easier to play because of its smoothness. Various kinds of singing bowls are being sold out in the market today, which includes those that are played by simply hammering your hand to it. Playing hand-hammered singing bowls are significantly more difficult to work with. Although a lot those claimed to be antiques do not always pass the qualification, very few of them are authentic and original antiques. If you just look for those antiques in antique shops, you will definitely find a few of them, but note that these pieces are very rare, and so that is why they are very highly priced.

If you put your mind into it, it is relatively simple and easy to make a singing bowl play. It has been estimated that one could easily learn how to play a singing bowl in just a matter of 5 minutes. Slowly and easily, just position the stick on the sides of the upwards facing circle of the bowl, circling it with the stick in a very slow manner, creating a subtle rhythm. You might actually have to do the circular action for a couple of minutes before you could actually hear something. What you would hear at first is a very subtle, soft hum. And if you continue motioning the circle with the stick, the hum will also increase its intensity and sound.

Tibetan Singing Bowls are generally used for meditation, and it's very good for using when you do your own individual meditation. It's best that you ask help from someone else to play it while you are still meditating.
